Our conference will take place at the Gellért Campus of the Corvinus University of Budapest, handed over in 2024. Every year, the Renovate Europe Campaign presents an exemplary building renovation in the framework of ReDay, with the aim of drawing the public’s attention to the many benefits of renovations.
On the energetically renovated Gellért Campus, it will be possible to take a guided tour of the building during the event.
Environmental awareness was particularly important during the campus, the most sustainable university building in this country, the energy supply is based on solar panels and heat probe pumps. 82% of the demolition and construction waste of the old building was selectively collected and prepared for later use.
During the renovation, the Gellért Campus was also enriched with interesting details such as the Hungarian lamp installation inspired by exchange rate charts that decorates the entrance hall, the light-transmitting glass concrete counter made of the Hungarian patented litracon material, the 70s retro network control switch cabinet that will be located in the Data Space, the acoustic network management switch cabinet, wall cladding in the learning spaces, and a cozy green roof between two buildings.
Did you know that in the renovated building:
- was the most modern thermal insulation technique used?
- was acoustic wall covering made from recycled material used?
- does the building have an AA+ energy efficiency certificate?
For more details, take a tour of the building as part of the conference!
